Marlin lever action .22 Magnum

I saw one of these in great shape at the local dealer...for sale. I was impressed with the smoothness and the very short lever throw. Topped with a 3X9 variable.....looked more like a centerfire rifle. I had not seen one before... he says they only were made for a short time. Nice rifle.

That's funny. I though that Marlin never made a .22WMR in a lever. That's interesting.....

marlin did make a lever action .22 magnum , but for a very short while , it was overshadowed by winchester's 9422 line , the marlin's were the 39 series i beleive , how much were they asking for the gun ? and what store did you see it in ? Joe

Marlin also made a model 56(clip) and 57 (tube fed) in 22 mag thsese were called Levermatics. They had a very short throw of 11/2" . I owned a 57 tube fed in my youth and it was a great rifle and very accurate at 100yds.

It is very sad that they discontinued making them. I have a 56 in .22 LR and it is very accurate, and fun to shoot. Its faster than my Mountie and Ruger 96 in .22

I myself have a 57M in .22mag. Royal Canadian edition (only a few hundred made I believe) It's a nice accurate shooter but I find it too small for my build for comfort. That damned short throw took awhile to get used to after a '94 and a 336.

Marlin .22 cal. magnum

Hey guys, I will have another look when I go up Tuesday to pick up a rifle I purchased. I believe it was $about $300.00. I am a big guy...6' 2" and it felt comfortable to me. It was in as-new condition. I'll get Model # etc. Not my thing but I was tempted. Reporting back soon. Dave
