Hi all,

Does anyone know the heck I can find one of these (Marlin 336 loading spring screw) and have it shipped to me for like less then $50? This i the screw that causes the famous "Marlin Lever Jam"

Western Gun Parts stocks them, but they have a mimimum purchase of $30 + taxes + shipping. I have tried Epps. They are trying to find one. I also doubt they'll get it to me before November, when I need it. Well, I dont *need* it. But like it. Else I'd just pay the $50 and be done with it.

The EE has been unsuccessful so far

Thanks

You can always order something extra from WG Parts to cover the minimum... I used to add a decel pad to small orders...

If you haven't got a part # the ladies at the desk can be cranky. As well if you talk to 3 of them you will get quoted 3 different prices. What about Gravel Agency? It's the loading gate spring?

That would be a lot easier if they actually listed their inventory.

I would gladly spend more money if I some idea what they carried

Their inventory is mostly parts, new and used and too large and varied to list everything... I didn't know they had pads until I happened to stop in on one trip...

I do have a part number for WGP. They have the part, but the aforementioned minimum purchase number is whats holding me up. Ive sent them an email asking about Weaver rings and bases for the same gun, hopefully they can find something to get me over $30.

The part in question is the screw that holds loading gate spring in place. I got the "Marlin lever jam" and when I put the screwdriver to it it sheared right off at the slightest turn. I havent the foggiest idea why I got the jam and why it sheared off so easy. The gun is 50~ years old with a very low round count (I expect less then a couple boxes of shells). Ive only owned it for a year and had been waiting on getting new sights before shooting it much. I finally got new peeps for it and on the very first lever operation it locked up tight.

Gravel lists it as out of stock last time I checked their website.

Thats not an excuse. Numrichs can do it. Anyone can do it.

I understand its their business and they can do as they see fit, but it makes ordering from them very difficult.

I have placed a (back) order with Gravel. Lets see how long this takes. With Remington's current bankruptcy I dont have much hope it will be soon.

If anyone has another source, please share. I'll buy multiple. Who the hells knows how long it will be before more of these get into Canada.

I broke down and ordered 2 screws from Western. Also ordered a base and rings in case I want them for it and to make the minimum order amount.

I got it installed last night with the help of a disassembly video on YouTube and looking forward to testing my new Williams sights I put on it. This gun came to me from an elderly gentleman who hunted with us for many years (longer then I've been alive), so I hope to do it proper and put a deer on the pole for him.

Thanks all for your advice
