Seem to be having feeding and extracting issues . I bought a new magazine and the feeding problem lessened a bit . But I still am getting casings hung up in the bore when cycling rounds . Is this a common problem with that model and is there anyway of fixing it ?

Are you having extraction issues with fired cases? Unfired? Both?
First scrub the chamber free of old oil, debris, grime etc. Amazing what they accumulate.
Is the extractor in good condition?
I may have an extractor if it's needed.

I'll give it a try on the weekend . Do you nitro solvent or a little more drastic like crud buster . I have already cleaned it when I first got it with Nitro . But the guy sad his buddy who sold it to me says he likes WD 40 which both of us are not big on . Never had a Marlin before . Just wondering if this is a problem with the micro grooving vs standard rifling getting fouled up quicker . My winchester lever .22 magnum never had this problem. And you are referring to the regular bore brushes from the cleaning kits ( don't want to make things worse using the wrong thing ).

Nitro bore solvent is good or a penetrating oil/solvent. Use it on a regular bore brush. You'll be surprised what shows on a patch after you push it through.

I have three Marlin rimfires (2 x model 80 + 25mn which I just got) and no feeding or extraction issues with any.

In the past I recall a rimfire rifle with a chamber that apparently had powder fouling buildup making extraction irregular. I cleaned it with lots of Hoppes solvent and a bore brush. My warning would be to use the brush on a rod by hand and just insert it so it is only in the chamber and twirl by hand only. My concern is with the start of the rifling.

Another option you might want to try is putting a swab into the chamber soaked in Kroil and just leave it sit there for a couple days. Then use a patch on a jag to give the chamber a good swabbing after and you might be surprised at the crap that comes out on the patch. Kroil is a good penetrating oil to use around guns, but darn hard to come by in Canada.
