Hi folks, I have some questions about a newly acquired rifle of mine. There seems to be a lacking of info for the Marlin Model 36 RC. From what I gather it was made in the 30s/40s era and was surpassed by the 336 with the round bolt after its shorter run. Also where do I get a screw for the loading gate to stop it from moving around, hopefully you folks have one in a parts drawer so I don't have to wait for Numrich to ship.
I plan on casting and loading up some more nifty rounds for this and cant wait to get it to the range. Maybe I will get out next week!

Enough with the rambling, now for the (low quality) pictures!!

It was made in 1947. I have a 36-A with checkered stocks and forearm cap rather than the barrel band, and upgraded sights, also a 'D'. They were only made from 1945-47 when they went to the round bolt(336). There is also a 36-A-DL with upgraded features.

Pdrk-Screenshot_20170427-095618.jpg My 1947/ 36A is the way I bought it many years ago, but is a cross between the two here. The 20" in barrel of the sporting short rifle and the A-DL wood of the rifle. Marlin was (if it is factory done) was piecing what ever they had on hand after the war, and getting ready to bring out the Model 336 in 1948. Very cool, what kind of peep sight fits onto your rifle. I noticed that mine has the holes factory drilled and still has the plug screws in it.
