Hey all, Just looking for a little help with a rifle that's been sitting in the safe. Its a lever action in good shape, I would like to know if anyone has any information on value or anything that may be use full in any way, I just don't know much about it and not sure what i should do with it. I know pictures would be nice but haven't taken any all i can say is that it has an octagon barrel and shoots nice, any help would be appreciated thanks.

I paid $600 for mine and thought it was a great deal...that was 5 years ago! It's the most accurate 22 I currently own. I'm sure you'll get plenty of help on the subject as they are highly sought after.

Are you asking about an 1897 Century LTD or M39 Century LTD? Two very different guns but as has been said already, both great! The 1897 is engraved and inlaid while the M39 is a carbine with a "coin" set into the reciever.

To Sidvicious... glad you're happy with the Century 39. I think you bought the 39TDS at the same time from Proline if my memory serves me correctly. They were part of my collection that I brought in to Brian and Chuck. The Marlin 39 are great rifles... I've had my Mountie since '61.

OH Great! Now I have to change my secret identity!! I still have them both but the fiance latched onto the TDS!!

Sid... not really. You posted shortly after buying the rifles that you had bought those two Marlins together and I thought that there couldn't have been two sales of those scarce Marlins at about the same time. Actually, I probably should have kept them in the safe!! Take care and keep enjoying them. By the way, I found the Century in Nova Scotia from an ad in one of the paper gun newspapers years ago so it has had a good travel history.
