Marlin Model 60 Any Good???

I handled one on the weekend for the first time, and it seems like a solid, well balanced rifle. I think you got a great deal on a very good rifle.

Thats is an awesome purchase ! I never seen the 60 in a beautiful wood stock like that

For comparison I bought my 60 stainless with hardwood for 240$ last year...

They are great guns and easy to dissassemble, you will LOVE IT!

I am used to the easy to load and unload Ruger 10/22, but the looks of this new gun I bought is beautiful. It more than makes up for any downfalls, that I may think they are.

I did'nt buy it from a friend either. Found it on another website. Its pretty hard to get $100 Marlins on this website...LOL.. Here it is, won't have it until next week though, darn CanadaPost has Friday, and Monday off for Easter.

Nope, sorry, I won that gun at a pistol match years ago and just never used it. I have a 10-22 that is all built that I use.

I was given a Marlin 990l....just like the Marlin 60 and after the stock was repaired, and a 3x9x scope put onboard...and a good cleaning ( it was stored in garage rafters for upteen years and corroded bad)..Took to the range and it is absolutely deadly to 100 yards ( minute of gopher). At 50 yards, I also shot the staples and knocked the paper off the target stand. I outshot a friends Ruger and a few other brands. Just great for a semi and a free gun. Look out gophers, here I come.

LOL.....I have owned them for 32 years and I have been posting for sometimes about Marlin 60's insane accuracy here. Still some folks have been very skeptical. At $159 (Bass Pro), it is easier to pick one up and try it yourself than post a reply here! :)

I knew the Marlin 60 was an accurate semi auto rifle. But 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 100 meters shooting Winchester White Box Bulk Dynapoints with a cheapo Nikko Sterling 4 x 32 compact scope is just sick.

Many groups were about an inch, as well.

Not fair to my CZ452s which group about the same, or my Savage MKIIF. And these bolties are wearing better glass, Bushnell 4-12 x 40AOs.

Which sub-model is that, wood stock or synthetic? Every time I call, they are out of stock:mad:

Synthetic stock $159 regular price. Wood stock $179 regular price. They had Wood stock for $159 on special a couple of weeks ago.

Right now they have the 10 shot magazine model (same action as 60 but 10 shot magazine instead of tube) for $115! Never shot one of these but $115 lousy dollars for a new gun?
