Hello guys,

I'm in need of assistance! I ordered Williams Fire Sights from Brownells (962-000-092WB) for the Model 60 but they don't appear to be the right ones for my rifle.

The front sight on my rifle has one screw but after I take it out the sight wont budge, like its soldered on. It also has a removable hood and when I take it off it looks like the front sight is held is by a dovetail

The fire sight is in the pic and doesnt look like its the right one. Is there another version of these sights with the front sight just being a new dovetail insert?

Any help would be appreciated!

Sight is probably glued on. If theres no screw under the sight blade you should be able to take it off with a bit of prying. For the fire sight can't help with this one but looks low looking at the pic. Are you also changing the rear sight? If you do, maybe it's height's ok.

Yes I think you guys are right, there should be a screw under the front sight blade. It did come with a rear sight as well but I'm not sure if I will bother trying to install these sights. The fit doesnt look right and there would also be a screw hole left on the front of the barrel as the new sight only has one screw.. I paid $62 CAD after all was said and done, what a bummer. I think they will fit my 795 but I already have a scope on it f:P:

I just bought a model 60 basic. Blue/synthetic. The rear sight was crooked and twisted, and took a pair of pliers and some judicious twisting to get it close to straight. The front sight is plastic on mine. Is it plastic on the Deluxe versions also? Probably a second screw under that sight blade. Only one way to find out. Better to drift it off and know for sure than to pry it off and find out that there was indeed a second screw and you stripped it with the prying. Let me know if there is a second screw. Curious.

So I drifted out the front sight blade for science and there is indeed another screw! However I decided the fit is going to be sloppy with the exposed screw hole so I think I will just keep the original sights and perhaps try selling the fire sights or maybe put them on my 795 and remove the scope. I wanted to just use irons on the model 60 but who knows now :bangHead:
