Hey there guys.

I have this marlin glenfield for quite sometime and I have had no luck figuring out why it keeps jamming.

The problem the gun has is that after you fire a shot the next shell won't slide up into the chamber without jamming. The shell just seems to hang up just before it goes into the chamber. If I pull back on the slide just a little to take some of the tension off it will come up into the chamber.

I just bought a new mag yesterday and it is still doing the same thing. I have also taken the gun apart a few times just to make sure it was not hanging up because it was dirty.

I found a website also that has nice parts diagram and I was wondering if I replaced the magazine guide if that might be the problem. This is where the next shell seems to hang up.

I am not very experienced with guns I just enjoy shooting.

Thanks for the help guys.

I find I have to keep mine clean and lube free as the powder residue gums mine up bad with lube.

The main spring on them is a little light, if it has been kinked during disassembly it will slow things down too.

There is a pin on the backside of the bolt that holds the firing pin in, once on mine it started backing out ans dragging on the left side of the reciever, performance was very poor at that point:p

A lot could just be the ammo, I have had very poor performance from Rem .22

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Funny that you mention the rem .22 ammo cranky pants but thats what I bought yesterday and tried and found it was still jamming.

Well I will take the gun apart again just to make sure of the parts you mentioned and I will pick up some different brands of ammo and try again.

My 70PSS jams with cheap SuperX and with cheap federal ammo (only one in 10-20 shots though)
The only bulk 22 that has cycled every time so far is CCI blazer and mini-mag, though the blazer leads up the barrel fairly quickly
