marlin model 780 .22, any views on this rifle?

im going to bebuying a marlin 780 bolt action .22 for plinking and maybe the odd gopher. so i can use it as a cheaper gun and not worry about friends/family using it (supervised of course) rather than my more expensive guns which i plan to buy.

are they any good? whats the accuracy like?
this is the one. $175 Canadian with the scope etc.

Marlin make good guns, I've never heard any bad comment about their rimfire rifle, infact they are very good shooters.

Took mine out for the first time today. I've fired with CCI Segmented, Mini Mags, Remington Subsonic, Winchester subsonic and the new Winchester subsonic 42gr. They were all CRAP!!! The least horrible of all was the Mini Mag with about 2 1/2 inches at 50 meters. Did anybody get good results with something else? I still have some Win 555 i did not try. Maybe i should try some round nose?

I've had 3 different marlin rimfires (never a 780 though) and can't say one bad thing about any of them. All 3 functioned perfectly, had good fit and finish and were very accurate.
