Marlin scope rings

I want to put a scope on my Marlin 925 but have no idea what I need for scope rings.. I found a nice 3-9x40 scope (not sure of the brand) for only 40$ and bought these rings I bought from wally world don't fit.. Some now I come to you guys to see which I need..

Used the search function and found nothing..

I think the 925 has a grooved receiver for 3/8 dovetail rimfire rings, and also is tapped for bases. If you put the bases on then the larger Weaver mount rings should work.

check out the Burris website, they have a complete 4 page chart on all rifles by model # and tell exactly which base and rings to use

My son has a 925. He bought a 1" Tasco MAG 3-9x32mm 22 Rimfire Rifle Scope from Walmart which came with rings and it fit perfectly on the dovetail slots, which are 3/8".

If you decide to put bases on instead you'd have to get them from a gun shop. With bases you could use the same scope rings (Weaver style) that clamp onto the bases of most centerfire rifles.
