so as the title says im looking at bedding a marlin x7vh its in the factory synthetic stock and has had the recoil lugg and forend bedded it appears but im looking for ways to improve the accuracy and stifen up the stock and am wondering what you guys would suggest?

Let me know how it goes because I have the identical model in 22-250. I just fired it for the first time last week and was very happy with the groups at 100m after just bore-sighting! I plan on free floating the barrel and filling the stock with silicone. I did this on my XL7 in 30-06. Yes I'm a fan of the Marlin X7 series. Extremely accurate for a low-priced rifle.

ya i wanna free float it to be the dremel i bought today from ####ty crappy tire is missing the chuck so i half to return it, but ya i was thinking wooden dowels epoxied into the forend but i like your idea of silicone could do both then free float.

I use the 100% silicone, not anything latex. The only upside to the latex is that it's easier to remove if you change you mind. Only problem with silicone is the vinegar smell that lingers for quite awhile, but it really works at adding weight and deadening that hollow sound!
