Marlin XT-22?

Hey guys whats up...Im really interested in the Marlin xt22 series. I have a 10/22 and a savage 64f and there great! but Im looking for a .22lr bolt gun of great quality and accuracy.

Lebaron right now has the xt-22rz that has what looks to be a semi bull barrel if that makes sense. Should i just purchase a model with a bull barrel on it already or should that do the job?

BTW I wont be reaching out past 100yrds...but 80% It will be 50 yards at my indoor range?

They're an attractive price, but I don't know how they shoot. (others can chime-in there) I called Le Baron's probably 10 times in anticipation of seeing one of those when they first came in. I took the drive over there, planning on getting the .22mag version. Ended-up getting cold feet, and bought a Savage 93FV instead. My Savage is an awesome shooter, with the type of trigger I think Marlin copied on their XT series. I remember thinking I could see it being a useful truck/hunting .22.

Good luck with your decision, I'm anxious to hear what others have to say.

Thx for the response...ya the price is soo attractive...all the tings ive been reading have suggested there great and super accurate!
 
The XT-22 is the successor to and based on the 925. The 925s are made in the old North Haven, CT factory while the XT-22 are made in the Remington factories. The main difference is that the XT-22 has the Accutrigger inspired Profire trigger and a fancy synthetic stock. Wood ones seem the same. That's about it. It sells for cheaper because the manufacturing has been more streamlined. I can't say anything about quality since I haven't actually used one yet, but if it's anything like the 925, it'll be great. I am such an idiot for selling my 925. So so dumb.

hahaha ok i understand. I am thinking if i should hold out for the bull barrel version or not.

I bought a marlin xt-22 about two months ago and it is absolutely FANTASTIC
I got the regular barrel (it's plenty thick enough) with the synthetic stock.
With iron sights it shoots great, and with a scope on top i get about 1inch groups with winchester bulk ammo. it's about 0.5 inch groups with some good standard velocity target ammo.
The trigger is great too, it can be easily adjusted. i put mine down to 3lbs, very crisp no creep.
Best $200 i ever spent!
 
forgot to mention, those groups were at 50 yards with a cheap $100 bushnell scope from canadian tire.
 
I see Bass Pro has the Marlin XT-17V Heavy Barrel on the front of this months flier @ $269.00
Only catch is that the description says ".22 L.R. - 22" Barrel"? :D :confused:

I can back up exus' figures. I had groups like that when I had my 925. 50yards is boring easy. I'm not saying it's not better, I'm just saying you probably won't benefit that much out of it.
