Marlin XT17-VR Anyone here have one?

Hey folks, in my continuing...internal struggle between HMR and .22WMR..I've added to the dilemma by stepping out of my Savage comfort zone, and actually browsing the Marlin sight. Yeah I know..crazy eh? :) Anyhow, I spotted an XT17-VR and thought it looked kind of sharp, do any of you have any experience with it, or any of the XT .17HMRs?
 
Its the successor to the 917 series. They brought the cost down, and added their version of the accu-trigger found on Savage rifles.

I handled one at the gun store, it felt like a good rifle. The action was pretty smooth. Word on the 'net is they're pretty good. I might buy one if/when I get around to getting a .17 HMR rifle.
 
Thanks for the reply. I poked around last night....found some really poorly done "reviews"...no good reports on accuracy though. I don't own, nor have I ever owned a Marlin anything. I know they have a good history, but this is a new model for them...don't feel like being a guinea pig...no matter how good the price is.
 
Yup I just bought one at lebaron when they had there 15% off deal...I fitted a 4-16X44mm scope on it and fired 50 rounds through her...Its deadly accurate...I put it up against my buddies Savage FV-SR and this thing is waaayy more accurate...The pro fire trigger is identical to the savage accutrigger. Overall im glad i bought it and cant wait til the 17hmr round drops in price..hehe

Plus I paid $190 plus tax for it! Can't beat that
 
Took a look at one this afternoon, looks like a pretty decent rifle...an a good deal with 2 mags. Action was really stiff, but I imagine that would improve with time. A nice gun if it's a shooter, and a great value.
