Picked one of these up new to try out the micro groove stuff, it was inexpensive and looks like a nice gun for the money.
The blade sights are pretty crummy though, so I'll go ahead and mount some glass.
My box says that I have the "RZ" model, and on the Marlin site that translates to scope bases, but there are none on the gun and none in the box. It is D&T'd for them, and the screw pairs are present, but no bases.
Oh well, they are $5 or so - I see that they will take Weaver #12s, but some suggest Weaver #45 as they are a little higher to accomodate a bigger objective - I'm thinking of something in the 40mm range - does anyone have any opinion/experience on this? I don;t want bases higher than what I need - I like to keep the objective as close to the rifle as appropriate.
Also, I can't see to find them in Canada anywhere - do any of the CGN sponsors carry them? Easier if someone knows rather than me clicking links until I find them.
All the glass I currently own is mounted and paired up well, so I'll get this gun it's own scope - taking into account the cost of the rifle, im not looking to break the bank, but want a good scope with nice features - any suggestions?
Appreciated,
