Even with the bad press this gun has received I just picked up a Marlin XT22m and I have to say I am pretty impressed. I did cheap out on the scope going with a Bushnell 3x9 XLT Trophy mounted to the receiver using Weaver mid height mounts. One problem I had is that the back ramp sight had to be removed for scope clearance.

With Hornady 30gr V-Max ammo the gun set up in under 10 shots without being bore-sighted and once zeroed in I was getting one half inch groupings at 100 yards and one inch groups at 150. This was with a 15km cross wind. I left the trigger at the factory setting and it seems to be of pretty high quality, no creep and super crisp. I was also impressed with the performance of the Hornady's, tight groups and zero drop at 100 and only 4" at 150. For a $200 gun and buck fifty scope I am pretty happy, now on to those close range coyotes!

Has anyone else picked one of these pieces up?

So with a couple months in are you still happy with the xt22? I've been wanting a model 60ss for a while now, but this new offering piqued some interest!

MORE than happy with it. using the Hornady V-Max's I am still getting 1" groups at 100 yards. not to start an ethics argument but I have taken two yotes with it out to 70 yards.

If I was to do it over again, and I still might, I would upgrade my optics but the gun itself has not missed a beat.

I picked up a xt22 and I'm impressed with it. It shoots a little better each time I go out. Best 50 yard group to date is .31. Also the adjustable trigger out of the box adjusts down to 3.2 lbs but just replacing the spring behind the adjuster nut (takes 2 minutes and can be undone) and the trigger is now breaking at 1.5lbs and breaks like glass.
