I got me a nice gun last week, paid very very little for it so it makes the gun that much more appealing ;)

Does anybody know a bit of history to these guns? Nowhere on the gun does it say what size chokes are on the barrel. Can anyone help me out with that?

Here's a pic of the inscription on the barrel:

Cant see it very well but it says :
Model 90 - 12 Gauge - Chambered for 2 3/4 shells ---- A

Any info is appreciated!
Thanks!

Marlin Model 90's were apparently made from 1937-1958. Early guns had
ventilation ribs, and from '49 -'58 solid ribs. They came in 12, 16, 20 and .410, as well as in combination arrangements like 12ga over .30-30.
Boxlocks, extractors, either single or double triggers.

Generally the O/U's were 26", 28" or 30" barrels. Your gunsmith can tell you what choke dimensions the barrels have.
