A question,

If Marstar and Can. Ammo think it would help, would it be possible to have a PM sent to every Nutz member with a form letter to fill out and send to Ottawa.....MP, PM, Justice Minister etc ?????

What do you guys think? good idea?

Lets make some noise:pirate::canadaFlag:

It is a good idea, but I would wait until John at Marstar provides more insight into the problem. This thing may just go away on it's own.

That'll just encourage them to do it again.

The way I see it they will push as much as they can. In the end Marstar has to take them to court if they disagree, it doesn't cost the ones making the decisions a penny personally win or loose. They want to harrass and beat down anyone they can and make it as difficult as possible to disuade the industry and gun owners. If we just let it be they win. We have to meet every challenge of theirs head on and full force with everything at our disposal. If they want to make the rules we must make them abide by them too. If they want to play games we must call them on it every single time.

For those who dont understand.

GUNSLINGER;
"John, do you mean the VZ59's, VZ58's, or short VZ58's?"
The Vz-59 has "issues" which we will look into....
The VZ-58 variants have had their classification changed after the fact.

To answer your next question regarding imports, in this case we applied for new FRTs on the weapons six months before importing them, they were approved and new FRTs were issued by the CFC.
We applied for and were granted IICs to import same....
Once arrived the application for the import license was submitted to DFAIT and approved.
AFTER THEY WERE HERE the folks in Ottawa did a new determination on them and re-classified them prohibited.

"What gives them the right to change their minds half way through"
NOT halfway through, AFTER the fact.

IN SHORT, take all precautions, spend your money, import the goods, then have them banned for public sale.... Interesting precedent ?

Scarecrow,
John has not answered the question about whether this reclass applies to all previous VZ58S models.

These new ones are from a different manufacturer and have a different FRT.

It is all speculation and conjecture right now. John has stated in previous posts that his new batch of Vz's are a completely different build(Maybe he could not prove the receivers were never FA before) then the ones previously imported so I don't see how they would affect the DIFFERENT build ones that are in country as RESTRICTED.

EVEN still........

There were no seizures of the few Walther g-22's that are in country that are classed as prohib. There are 1000's of VZ-58's legally in country now so I really don't think we have anything to worry about.

REGARDLESS my support as always is with the dealers bringing us desireable firearms.

And it would be a good idea to NOT start writing letters at this stage.
Only John and Chris have the real information about what is happening, and muddying the waters could make things worse.
If they were to ask for support, that would be a different situation.

Well said, tiriaq.

Then why are people reporting that there VZ58's transfers arent going through? Yes information is sketchy right now, but all signs point to our rifles going the direction of the stock on the g22's.

Interesting...I have a waltherpp that was being converted to a restricted .380 cal.verified paper work sent in, then all of a sudden we are told they cant do that any longer cuz once its a.25 or .32 it will always be a.25 or .32 regaurdless...I talked with them about it last week and apperently they have somone new in there that is interpeting things differently.

The plot thickens...

Anyone contact Wolverine to see if a "stop" has been put on CZ-858 transfers?...

...I'd give them a call but it's long distance and I'm at work.

Which people? I saw one post that said it had been referred and another post that said a transfer had just gone through.

Was the transfer in PQ? Was it a routine delay? We've all had those happen for no reason.

Don't jump to wide reaching conclusions with no information.

Can't find it now but someone said it in one of the threads.
While you can't prove its true, you can't prove it isnt likely. Last thing we need is you dismissing everything.
