Looks like Marstar is bringing in Pietta (a competitor of Uberti) revolvers in replica of original 1800's stuff. Bother cartridge and percussion.

Prices look great too. .44 percussions as low as $215. Cartridge .45 LC's in the $400 range. Not bad.

The wesite isn;t up and running yet, but it's in the PDF version of their July ad copy.

Wonder how the Piette stuff compares to Uberti in terms of quality and accuracy of replication of the originals?

Anyone got experience with the Pietta guns?

My only complain thus far is that they brought in (it seems) copies of the same models Uberti dealers are selling. IMHO, they should have maybe offered replicas of some of the models Uberti is not currently doing, such as the Dance Brothers revolver or the Schofield.

Just an observation...

From what I've read, the current generation of Pietta products compare quite favorably to the equivalent Uberti. There are some dimensional discrepancies in their percussion line compared to the originals, but the fit & finish is supposed to be quite good. I haven't found many reviews of the SAA (marketed as the Great Western II in the States) but the few that I have found were quite favorable. I only hope this works out for Marstar so that they can bring in more of the obscure Piettas like the LeMatt and the Starr DA.

Here's the Pietta website for an idea of what's possible...

Case color hardening isn't quite as exotic as the uberti's but I think I like it better a little duller...........

Anyone know if they have them in stock yet, or is it a pre-sale situation? With guns as los as $215 fir a BP .44, it'll be hard not to buy... must... resist...

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the LeMat.

Good lord my dreams have come true...inexpensive SAA and blackpowder revolvers. I have been drooling over the BP revolvers from Cabela's catalogs for years. Now, they are here at a very nice price.

Me happy :D
wife not happy :(

There is another post from Marstar in dealer forums i believe and they said end of month for the shipment. What you see in the PDF is what they are bring in for now. If your interested in other calibers they'll bring them in too. This is just a sample i understand of whats too come

We now have Pietta Revolvers added to our web site as of last Friday afternoon. We also received our initial Pietta shipment last week and are now taking orders.

Hope this helps,

- Peter
