Marstar m14 scope mount

I ordered some stuff from Marstar last week, and it arrived today. Well packaged, all there, no problems.
My M14 has"nt showed up yet(not coming from Marstar directly)
My only problem so far is the width of the weaver mount. I tried 2 sets of rings, and they"re both loose. The claws on the rings don"t close fully on the weaver rail.
Is the Marstar deluxe M14 mount narrow on the weaver rail?
Do I need to shim it?
Are"nt all mounts the same width?
Am I an idiot?
I also got a Nacstar 4-16X50 p4 sniper scope, which on initial inspection seems to be remarkable for the price.(and it came with free rings in the box)
Anyone else have trouble with the width of the mount?

My B-Square rings tighten right up no problem.

That"s the one, it must be my rings. I ordered a set with the scope, not knowing that there was a set free with the scope anyway.
Having just looked at them again, both stes of rings are NcStar. They look like very solid rings, but they just don"t close tight enough to grip the mount.
Another set of rings req"d!
