Just curious about the Marstar scopes, they're a good price and even has illuminated reticle, and I figure I'll need another scope sooner or later, plus its always good to have a backup. Anyone have any experience with them on a big bore rifle? how about a 22 or a 17HMR? how well do they hold zero?

It Really Depended on how much money you really wanted to spended on Glass Sight.
Example the 5 generation of Leaper that Marstar offer are very nice for the price, and if you wonder about the quality of Leaper scope just go to the leaper website where they offer model and testing

http://www.leapers.com/pages/new items/new-products.htm

check the different model that Leaper offer!

I was looking at the Leapers scopes, but I'd like a 3-9x40....and the only one they have on Marstar is the "rubber armoured" one that looks kinda tacky....

I'm swaying to the Marstar brand Scope since they're giving a discount for the nickel finish and I've always wanted a nickel scope for my 22 and right now I just have a fixed 4x32 bushnell on it.

I Actually saw a Fellow at the Genesee Gun Club in Edmonton area had one of those scope, it look pretty good and it had the Illuninated Reticle, for the price that marstar offer it pretty much good for most shooting, there is also other style of scope that leaper offer , I have check out the Leaper site and they have done alot of research and developement in their different line of scope, I am most impressive with the price and have order 2 scope from Marstar, one of them look very similer to the Leupold , may be is a copy, but I will let you know how good the quality of it when compare to my Leupold!

Leapers

I purchased one of these, it looked ok but it did not work very well. They have not adjusted them for parallax, If I zeroed it at a particular zoom it would work great, then if I changed the zoom the point of impact would shift. I got rid of it.

Is this true? Does anyone else have this problem?

Parallax

Mine was an adjustable scope not fixed mag, I used it for about 6 months on the range and then tossed it out of frustration. Perhaps it was bad luck but I have never experienced a problem like this with any of my other scopes :(

I've got two Leaper's scopes and I think they're great. I thought I had a problem with one (it turned out I was wrong) and dealt directly with Leapers. They changed the scope without a problem.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if it met my needs.
