Why are you kidding?
If the USA flat out refuses to allow export of anything 50BMG related, then why not look elsewhere?
It is a global economy, and if the US wishes to hinder their own manufacturing, then China and others can pick up the slack.

And a boatload of reasonable priced 50 cal ammo would be most welcome, also!

Thank right, if they don't wanted to sell it to Us, then We should look somewhere else, That is a Must!

How the hell do you guys get aquisition status on your licence and the rest of us only get possession, or not even that... bunch of crap.

Wow...

I'm also interested in Norinco SVD

Unfortunately, for some ridiculous reason, the Dragunov and variants are PROHIBITED (believe it or not!) by name.

Former Prohibited Weapons Order No. 13 (in effect since January 1, 1995)

Much like with the SPAS-12, it's a "big scary gun" that looks like "another big scary gun" and they've just wantonly prohibited it.

Ridiculous, but it's the law... for now, at least.

EDIT: Oops, looks like someone beat me to it... I'll leave the listing up anyway I suppose.

Actually, if they were to accept that there is a substantive difference between the 7.62x39 chambering of AK variants and the either 7.62x54R (Norinco 85) or 7.62x51 (Norinco EM352), one could argue that they are in a different class NOT covered at present by the existing prohibited weapons statutes.

I wonder if an importer could craftily convince the powers-that-be that this is the case? I'm sure it'd be a goldmine to suddenly have a monopoly on 'pseudo-SVDs' in Canada...
