Not really sure.
So I just placed my order for their currently available M-97 that is chinese made.

Who here has one of these and are you happy with yours?

Also do you have any pictures you could post to give me a better idea of what to expect quality wise?

Are they better quality than the older norinco made ones from several years back?

Thanks.

I received mine from Marstar late January. I have shot it only a couple of times. I am quite happy with it. That being said, the action is still sticky, having a hard time racking the action. The finnish in the gun is nice, factory bluing is fine. I like the sights on it shoots a touch low. (That could be me though) I realy love the slam fire ability. Dont really know about the quality of the older norinco shotguns, but my older norinco type 56 sks has no issues. I'll post a pict of the shotgun tomarrow morning.

Ok thanks for posting your experience, much appreciated.

Quality is actually very good for the price. Wood and finish are above what I would consider Norinco standards.

Action will take some working in or smoothing out, I found it very very stiff when new.

Wait... wut???

Marstar has something on their website that's actually in inventory????

You tease, I'm sure.

I hope so!, my order is being processed and it says in stock. I will keep my fingers crossed lol. because I definitely hear what your getting at.

I have one. Action is a bit stiff. It works well.

Stiff action I can deal with, it will smooth out eventually. More concerned with quality of wood, finish and mechanical reliablity/robustness. The Winchesters are bulletproof, I hope that carried over into the copy.

Don't get me wrong, it's a love/hate thing with Marstar. They bring in lots of cool stuff that I want, it's just never in stock when I have the money to buy it.

So it goes... I actually want one of these to put a heat shield and bayo lug on and turn into a pump-fire trench gun replica. But I've blown my new gun budget for the moment, and am trying to set aside some $$ for the Easter gun show. By the time i can swing back on these, they'll be sold out (again).

Got mine in about a week after ordering.

It is heavy with storage grease, so I need to do a full take down and clean it up. That said it is still smoother out of the box than my original winchester '97 (1912 manufacture) so I expect with some good cleaning and some use it will run very nicely.

Functions flawlessly with snap caps. Need some warm weather for a good range test.
