Marstar's Chinese SKS's are they worth it??

They had the same sale for father's day... yesterday, and scored a chiniseium one about a month ago for the same price.

Except you might not get a cleaning kit, sling, stripper clips etc. Id rather pay the extra $30 some odd bucks and get everything the rifle is supposed to come with off the EE.

Have one from a previous import of unissued, in the grease military models. It is hard pressed to keep 10 shots on a paper plate at 100 yards without a flyer or two going off. Stock fit I think.

But it was $189 and it was fun.

You never really know what you are getting besides what the others have said. An SKS is an SKS.

I bought one from John about 10 years ago. I have it in a Tapco stock and its been cheap fun, never a problem with it. Always shoot corrosive ammo, but I always pour a kettle full of boiled water over the detail stripped parts, they flash dry, then oil and reassemble.

I bought a chinese Tt-33 from marstar recently, it was a great price and fast shipping. That's my only experience with them. My understanding is that the majority of the type 56 sks's, sponsors have for sale right now all came from marstar, so says my lgs at least. I would take a chance on one they claim is very good condition for $219.

Long story short, yes a on with the Chinese SKS is worth it. Longer story even shorter. A Chinese SKS from MARSTaR isn't worth it. After the crap that went on with th TIppo Garands, I cannot believe anybody wants to give them business. Note, I didn't buy one, but they lost my business going forward because of morals.

Fools seldom differ but marstar always was fair to me . Bought a m48 that had a poor barrel and. They exchanged it no prob. My yugo 98k was just fine as well

I felt much the same about marstar, I had over 10 years of dealing with them.

I wish my experience returning the dangerously unsafe, falsely advertised, fake, shoddily built commercial garands that I received went as well as your m48 return. Instead I found myself having to fight tooth and nail against an incredibly belligerent and dishonest business that raked me over the coals before quietly refunding my money that I had payed in good faith. I do not believe I would have got my money back had there not been several others caught up in the scam; together we were able to expose it beyond all doubt.

And this is why I will never let them off the hook whenever their name is mentioned. John is a belligerent, bully scumbag loser that while moderately entertaining in short doses lost my respect when he sold said garands and then bullied the peopl who called him out for it.

Too bad that Marstar has slid so badly. We used to buy guns and ammo galore and NEVER had any trouble. Sad to hear about those Garands.

I have had 1 order from Mar*. One item was as described, the other belonged in the trash, but was worth less than the shipping to return it.

There is nothing wrong with chinese SKS rifles. I would look for one at a site sponsor though. They pay to keep this site going, and they have been vetted. Sure, some may say or do things that upset some members, but you aren't going to get burned on a purchase. Mar* was a member and got kicked out. That should be all you need to know about about the way they conduct business.
