Marstars Frontier Bullets?

Nope, no issues with them. I use them and raniers for both 40 & 45. No issues with either.

Beware of shipping prices though.

no issues. Although I didn't get mine from marstar. I believe its the same stuff from Higginson

Yes, Higginson Powders also carries Frontier bullets. As for the quality of the product the comments already mentioned speak volumes. We've yet to find them wanting in any application where CMJ projectiles can be used.

When are you getting more 147gr 9mm in?

Did you read Peter's sig line?

He will not conduct Marstar business here, so a phone call to them is in order.

I've asked, by calling Marstar, and they aren't getting any for about 3 months.

RePete.

The Frontier are lead cast bullet, copper plated. I found that they leave more copper in the barrel than real jacketed bullet. On the + side, this copper is easy to remove. They vary in weight more than most FMJ. Whatever, they are a good deal. They are made in South Africa.
In Montreal, they can be pruchased at the Club de Tir de Ville St-Pierre.

I've seen them advertised but never tried them. A friend of mine has been using them and really likes them, says they are quite accurate in his guns.

When my lead bullets run out I'll give them a try.

Thanks, RePete. I try to jump on and provide useful information when possible but the best and quickest way to get a product-related question answered by Marstar (nothing wrong with threads like this one!) is to give our office a call.

Mainly my sig line is there because - believe it or not - I've actually had people try to give me/us &@#*! for not answering their question and, after searching through all our email and asking everyone at the office, it turns out they'd sent a PM instead of going through normal channels!

I apologize profusely for the hijack. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread already in progress. Are Frontier bullets good? Sound off if you've used 'em

(from personal experience I've used them in .357 magnum, .380 ACP, and .45 ACP. .357 loads approaching 'max. recommended' hasn't hurt the plating any. No perceptible difference between Frontier CMJ and std. FMJ in .45 230grs. either but in deference to Janeau I haven't done 'copper in barrel' comparisons.)

Re the 9mm 147grs bullets, we seriously under estimated the demand for them. We ran out, more ordered, should be here in 4-6 weeks.

FRONTIER BULLETS
Can be purchased in Montreal at the new shooting range, CRAFM in Lachine, they have a good stock....

YES Higginson Powders also stocks our bullets in this area, he also carries a very large inventory, at the same prices as you would pay here at Marstar.

BTW, in our next shipment we will offer some of the new .40 and .45 caliber bullets which are with a swaged core and twice as thick plating, match grade.

We will also be introducing the new solid rifle bullets you can read about on their site....

I've had good results with the 124 grain 9mm's so far - ordered from Higginson's. I found shipping reasonable, in the $20 range to BC for 1,000. I haven't gone to Frontier for .38/.357, .45ACP or .44Mag yet, as I found the price jump from cast lead to be a little high for the "heavier" rounds.

I'm shooting the 115 9mm Frontier bullets and I just love them. The re-load nicely in the bullet seating die. Not a single failure to feed in my Imbel / Springfield 1911 9mm pistol.

I'm due for another 1000 from Andrew Higginson !

Go for the Frontier bullets, you cannot go wrong.

I have used the 110 g cmj 30 cals in 30 Carbine, 308, 7.5 french, 30:06 and 30-30. Makes a nice plinking round in the 30-30. Same as hornady for me in the 30 carbine.

I highly recommend them for 30-30 practice rounds.

Just watch your OAL. The bullets are "blunt nosed" and short be seated shorter than OAL to fit in the chamber. I learned that the hard way...:) (ever pull a bullet with a lever action that does not close...)

I use they for 9mm and .44mag with no problems at all.

just finished a 1000 of 9mm 124gr RN and got enough of 138gr to get me thru summer, since everyone is out of stock on 124 and 147 and i don't like 115gr.
