A few weeks ago, at the CRAFM grand opening, Marstar staff had some kind of reproduction Lee-Enfield No.4 rifle with full wood, light gray park, but chambered in .308. It looked like a fine and fun rifle, but I can't find any information about it such as the manufacturer, availability and price?

Maybe one of the Marstar's members could enlighten me (us) about this?

Thanks

Damned useless search function... never works. Would by any chance remember the location and/or title of this thread?

Thanks

you just have to spend hours a day reading everything and then tryin to remember where they were, here is another thread

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74790

I only found them because I remember our aussi nutz had posted into the threads so I went into the member list and checked their post and found what I was looking for.

I tried a search using AIA but it came up with nothing.

and search for enfield or marstar comes up with hundreds perhaps thousands of threads :)

threads are about page 3 of the hunting forums

so it is marstar that will be dealimg these! any word yet on prices or when they'll be ready to ship

Yes, it's Marstar who will be the dealer. They have some right now, but aparently the first shipment wasn't large enough to offer for sale because Marstar wants sufficient stock to fill orders before premiering the rifles.

Aparently internet forums have given them some bad press in the past about selling out of products too quickly...

And no, they won't sell you one yet. Trust me on that. For now they're demoing tham at shows and waiting for suffient stock to arrive.

Not sure on fianl pricing yet, but I have it on good authority they will be less than most of the CGN critics have been complaining about.

Honestly,

When was the last time that Marstar had a problem with their prices???

I mean really, the only problem with them has been the slow boats that deliver their stock, and that's out of their control!

I mean, where else can you get a Mortar for under a grand??

Are these the ones that use M14 mags?
Well when I ask about them being able to take M14 mags I was told no, then I asked if it would be possible to modify a M14 mag to fit he said with a smile "I can't tell you that".
I did take the mag out of the rifle and it looks very much like a M14 mag.

sounds like the AIA mag is made specifically for this new enfield like rifle, but it has some similarities to the M14 type mag.

Perhaps there are AIA markings that make it inconpatable with other similar but not exactly the same magazines ;)

I've shot the carbine 7.62 x 39 version. Minute of beer can accurate, very loud, the teak stock had started to crack through the wrist area after a few hundred rounds. It's quite a heavy gun so felt recoil was minimal.

I'm still interested in buying one, but I want a Remington 7615P for practical rifle first.

one of the 7.62x39 ones would be cute, especially if it took AK mags! It would be nice to bubba up an enfield, guilt free, too...

An Enfield jungle carbine in 7.62x39 with an AK mag is just wrong. Yes, I'll be first in line to buy one.
