I'm buying a Martini off a friend of mine, he describes it as a Martini Henry Artillery Carbine. The problem is one of the previous owners cut the fore stock down and shaved it thin, I'd like to get a proper forestock with barrel band but have no idea where to look. I was hoping some of you Martini experts might be able to tell me where to look. Also the barrel has some pitting and the crown is looking shabby, do Lee enfield barrels thread onto these? Any help is appretiated, thanks.

A Lee Enfield SMLE barrel will thread on, but the inletting is different. If you can find a sporterized Long Lee with a nice bore, use that instead as a barrel donor - it'll fit like a glove.
For the forestock, your best bet is to haunt e-bay like the ghost of ebineezer scrooge, or buy a rusted out POS carbine and scrap it for the wood.
You might want to pm Sgt. Striker - he has likely owned more of these than any other board member.

Its funny you mentioned the enfield barrell on a Martini action I have a Martini in 303/338 Epps as for the forstock took an old Martini stock had to do a little inletting and a bit of sanding but she fits tight as a bell hardest place to work was were the wood met the action you almost have to sand 90degree angles.
