Martini Henery??

I have a chance to buy a Martini Henery for $500. THe markins have been buffed off when it was restored. Says it has been checke out and is a shooter.

Since I don't know anything about this gun I was wondering if someone could helpp me out\ie: is it a good price what about the marking being buffed out?

It already sounds iffy as you say the marks have been buffed out during restoration and it's a shooter. Sounds like any historical value has been destroyed. Without seeing it I would say $500 is too much. Sounds like a $200 range piece. If you really what to know what it's worth you need a detailed description as well as some good clear photographs. There are many different model Martinis out there. It like saying "I have a Mustang car, what is it worth?"

junkman +1. anybody who does metal polishing for refinishing, realizes that you do not buff serial numbers or any markings very much, whether it be with a muslin wheel with polishing compound or a felt wheel. i would be suspicious that the markings may have been removed for a reason. like maybe it's hot!! spend your $500.00 elsewhere.
