I use Ball and Match (Sierra) bullets as I`m mostly a Recreational Target Shooter ( Paper Puncher) but i do from time to time get a shot at a coyote. How good is the Sierra Match in 30 cal 7.62 NATO/ 7.5 Swiss Ballistics and 25-06?

Better to go with a properly expanding hunting bullets so that you can give the animals you shoot a quick clean death. Match bullets and fmj aren't designed to make clean kills and either fall apart and don't penetrate enough OR don't expand at all and the animal takes longer than needed to bleed out.
I wouldn't waste my match bullets on animals anyways. There are tons of accurate hunting bullets out there these days anyway.

I've killed a pile of coyotes with 155 palmas out of my Anschutz Sporter, 52 and 53 grain Seirra match, 52 grain Speers, 75 grain Hornady BTHP Match, 52 grain Berger Match in 22/250, and most recently 80 Grain Berger in the Middlestead.

300 grain SMKs don't bounce off of anthing either.

i asked the same question a while back of the guys at sierra- i figured that the 338/300 match should pretty potent on game- they put it in the strongest terms that the smks should NOT be used on game as the results would be unpredictable- by extension, that should apply to most match

Other than Berger, I don't know of any other bullet makers that list their match bullets as also being good for hunting bullets.

While I have used 69gr SMK's on gophers, they do die instantly but you can tell that they are not expanding and transferring the energy that they should be.

What is it that you think the match bullet will do better? Over normal ranges, lets say out to 300 yards there is no advantage as almost any bullet is accurate enough to kill a coyote. None of the bullets you mention will do him any good. If they expand, the pelt will be ruined as MKs can expand pretty explosively when they do, but if it pencils through, it might not anchor the dog. If match bullets were the only ones I had, I wouldn't pass up a shot at a coyote though.

I see you're in Little Africa, if you know Doc Kobus, say hi for me.

As said before I am a Recreational Target Shooter. And very seldom get a shot at coyote so loading a soft point hunting projectile just for 1 or 2 rounds fired in a year doesn`t make sense. Want to shoot with what it punch paper with and wondering if they expand enough/work well on animals.

The Sierra HPBT MatchKing or the Hornady A-Max (both .308) are just fine for game.

You should see what they do to bears ;)

Y2K let er rip. I shoot yotes and gophers with long range target bullets, deer Not so much. You should see what a 155gr Lapua scenar does to a yote or a gopher.
You want to see how a bullet expands, shoot it into the end grain of a 10"diaX24"L block of poplar at 100 yards. Then I split it and see the expansion. Thats my test.

The 100gr MK works just fine from the .25-06. Killed a few things, including a BH sheep at 400 and a coyote at 942 yards with it. Both animals had 1.5" exit wounds...

The 162gr A-Max from a 7WSM is another match bullet that I've used on game. Again, 1.5" exit wounds and destroyed vitals...
