Lot's of different ones what ones do you think is the best .
1. RC55 .
2.Ruger Target Tactical 10/22 .
3. Custom 10/22 *list parts and cost* .
4. Or just stick with the CZ bolt ?.

Thompson Center R55 benchmark.
Match screw on barrel, last shot hold open, all steel (not aluminum receiver), and the trigger is decent although a bit heavy out of the box.

I really like my Ruger 10/22 rifles. I love the fact that you can build what you want. Also the mag system works very well. That being said the costs add up very quickly once you start building one.

It depends on your budget and expectations. For an out of the box well made exceptionally accurate rifle, I'd go with the Thompson. For an all around upgradable in the future rifle. The Ruger.

thompson center r-55 no question. shilen match grade barrel, this was a quick 10 shot group at 50m with cheap eley sport. shot low as its sighted in for cci minimags

I adjusted the scope ever so slightly after the first two shots you see to the left and fired quick 8 shots off a bipod using a leupold vx2 3-9x40. and am no crack shot. This gun is amazing.

very few bolts can keep up with the T/C R-55's and they are not expensive.

Shot my R55 at 100 yards a few weeks ago. I thought hitting the 2" triangle targets on Lineofsights metal .22 target would be hard. It wasn't.

I shot a sighter adjusted then 4 rounds. 4 rounds were just slightly smaller than an inch. Grabbed another round to make it 5 and opened the group to 1.5". That was with cci standard. Exceptional accuracy right out of the box.

Certainly do not take this as a match situation but I have shot a Stevens 87 semi and a very similar Marlin 81 bolt. Both are 24 inch barrels, under barrel mags , both have bipods and shooting the same ammo. Because of the recoil that is necessary to operate the semi action, the shots on target are a larger pattern than the bolt. The 10/22 action can have add-ons to make it shoot but in the same situation, the bolt action can also have great barrels, triggers etc added to make them unbelievable shooters. But out of the box, the bolts do tend to be the better target shooters, IMHO.

wish I saved the target, shot another target yesterday, 10 shot smaller than a dime at 50 yards with eley sport and the Thompson Center R-55, embarrassed to say it was twice as small as the anschutz 54 action group. It was small, its posted at the sport shop next to the TC as a sales tool. These are accurate, I then tried firing 10 rounds of american eagle through it and everyone jammed, then went back to eley, had one ftf then back to shooting perfect, you really need to spend time find the right ammo for your TC they are the most sensitive feeding semi 22 I have known.

My T/C R55 and Lineofsights seems to shoot phenomenally with CCI standard. I tried some Lapua Super club, which shot very well, but the CCI standard seemed to be the best.
