My buddy up north asked me to pick him up a match pro on sale yesterday,he had wanted one for about a year.when he was mentioning wanting one it i tried to convince him about the ares btr 4.5x27 for just $450 more which I have but he is a bushnell guy or at least he has a few and likes them.so when I picked it up he asked me to hold onto it for a month until he comes down and said to give it a try in case it had to go back,well i used it this morning side by side with my athlon ares and all I can say I'm getting one,I was looking to get another ares or the etr because I'm one scope short for my needs,but for $650 dollars I'm in on a match pro to my eyes it actually had better glass then the ares,just no illum which I never use and a zero stop.the ares also has bit more elevation. But for just over half the price of the ares btr it is amazing scope

although I think mine has an illuminated reticle.Cabelas had them on sale 2wks ago for $649 in wpg.they will be going on sale again in a it from the internet chatter lol.i also searched every vendor on the top of cgn page and I believe I found 3 for $699 for non lume and was ready to pull the trigger then cabelas sale came up.but when I looked through the match pro and the venom I was tempted to get the venom but it was 34mm and all my rings are 30mm.been to range 4 more times with match pro and ares btr g2 and the match pro is way easier on my eyes.
If I see anything in manitoba will let you know,definitely worth the money,I'm not sure if the smaller dot on the ares is what strains my eyes over the match pro larger dot,but something does.at 200 I find the match pro in the middle of the athlons pst g2.with pst g2 the better scope except the need for a pipe wrench and persuade bar to turn the optical lens.
