So I was watching John Wick the yesterday. Great movie; I highly recommend. So he was using an HK P30L with a compensator at the end. I recall another film where the main character uses a comp; Leon the Professional with a Beretta 92.

Of course, other than providing the practical uses of a compensator should, it seems to add a nice cool factor to it.

So my question is where can I get one in Canada? And how much are they?

Proper compensators thread onto the end of a threaded barrel. And for most guns that means a new longer barrel so the threaded end sticks out in front of the slide's nose.

For the 1911's some folks make compensators that replace the slide bushing. But the general feeling is that these are not that good for accuracy as they are not mounted solidly to the barrel and for that reason cannot be certain of a consistent centering.

So be prepared for a pretty high price to get the look since you need to start with a new barrel even before you shop for a compensator.

If you plan to use it on 1911 platform, have a look on 460Rowland conversion kit with compensator and still be able to fire your 45ACP ammo.
