Excellent condition, they started to abbreviate the serial numbering by now. Un numbered sight parts, extractor, ejector box, trigger guard.

Thanks Joe! I'm doing a small gustloff focus. I've got this one and a bcd4 phosphate, also a bcd43 lined up. Then search for a bcd45! Haha

bcd is sequential and in order in regards to the alphabet.

I think it might be the only mauser code like that.

It's too bad they didn't have a code efg and abc and xyz.

I know there's an "abc" but not sure what they made.

Xyz would have been a neat one, or qrs

Just thought I'd make mention of the stains from the grenade launcher use. Pretty interesting. You don't see that too often, or at least I haven't.

No, I'll admit I have not seen that type of marking either.

I've never had much interest in a grenade launcher, because it always felt like just an enhancement by a collector to look neat.

But knowing this one had one for an extended period of time during the war, will make me think twice about passing on a good launcher kit.
