# Matching Frankenpin or Not?

How so? No one can see a pin attached to the follower inside the mag...everyone can see an external weld.

exactly. and maybe one day if things change, the pin can be removed and you will not know it was ever there

If you keep it as a collectable, then mag has to match no matter what.

I have a nonrefurb laminate stock(original from the factory)sks with a # matching mag that was frankinpinned. Considering desirability/$ value, is it better to leave it alone or replace the mag. with a non-matching mag that has the internal limiter in it(which looks much nicer)?

ummm, just buy a non matching mag with the internal limiter and keep the matching frankinpinned mag... that was easy

This is how you pin a mag... In the event of the apocolypse and long after the rule of law has ended, lol, that pin comes right off the follower and you now have a zombie killing rifle mag that has not been frankenpinned, lol....

The follower pinned ones tend to have the pin fall off. After having three fail during use my shooters all have welded plug now.

Here's the most valued pinning variation... small metal bar welded to the follower arm. Only on the early 2008 IZH imports. In those days, the SKS was all-matching. Mine happens to also be as-issued and non-refurbished. It was weimajack's personal SKS, hand picked. This one goes to the grave with me.
