I received this one just after the Port H block I posted and finished the photo shoot today so I thought I'd post it up for those of us into K98k's.
I got a pretty good deal on it because it had a trigger guard with only a single e/135 on it and that put most people off it. It was a very real possibility that the missing e/135 was a factory error but once I had it in hand and could inspect it carefully it became apparent that it wasn't the original trigger guard. A different level of grime and different type of grime present only on the tg gave it away so I replaced it with a totally correct double e/135 tg and am very pleased to own it. The rest of the gun is completely untouched. It has a somewhat hard to find raw stock. Never stained or oiled it has darkened over the years from handling and use but raw wood is still evident in the bolt cutout, sling cutouts, and the various grooves and low spots in the wood.
While pretty boring for an L block as far as odd parts usage goes, the condition and stock are what sets this one apart from many. It even has some factory primer left on the outside of the buttplate in a couple spots. White glue stock with lots of fine chatter and "white" glue handguad which actually has the most pink looking glue I've ever seen. It didn't show up well in the pics but it's bright pink.
It does have a left over Mauser Berlin rear sight sleeve on it as evidenced by the e/26 acceptance so that is one cool non MO part used in production.
