Has anyone here used Matrix Bullets (out of Delta BC)? http://www.matrixballistics.com/index.html

I am looking at their .264" 130gr FB and the prices seem very good.

How is the terminal perfomance compared to other common bonded offerings like the Accubond or Interbond? Do they shed much lead(within a 'normal' velocity band, say impacts below 3000fps)?

Experiences?

Thanks!

Not used the hunting bullets, but their match bullets rival ANYTHING out there. I have used the 190 7mms, the 142 6.5, and the 117 and 107 grain 6mm bullets. All excellent

I am a 6.5x55 fan and always interested in terminal performance. Really interested in replies on the Matrix bullet. I have been looking at the 120 gr Barnes TTSX.

Can you say "Berger VLD technobabble race?"

They're my favourite bullet in my 9.3x57. They're the most accurate I've tried out of 3 brands, they work well and it feels good to support a Canadian company.

Those are after going through a bull moose's neck and skull at about 100 yards. It started as 270gr and was 133.5 as pictured above.

Thank you for sharing Cory!

I will be ordering some of these for a few of my rifles, if they work well, I might use them exclusively!

I have emailed them to enquire about the FB hunting bullets. I have zero interest in Bergers/VLD's or target/varmint style big-game bullets that break-up. I like good weight retention and exits, not lead bombs. I save those for Vmax .223 loads.

Dunk, I have been messing with the 120gr TTSX. A few guys I have spoken too have battled to get them to shoot in the Swede. I have done OK accuracy wise with 48.5gr RE19 and shot one Mule deer, probably about 80 yards. I am concerned that with a longer shot, say 200 plus, that I might not be driving these TTSX fast enough. They really seem to like speed and targets that offer lots of resistance. I would interested to hear of experiences with the 100gr 6.5mm TTSX but cannot find any reviews. I have thought about trying Interbonds or Accubonds, the IB looks great, but these Canadian made Matrix look promising. I could save myself a whole lot of OCD fretting and just stick to 129gr Hornady SP's which shoot like a house on fire out of my Tikka (sub MOA, 2735fps). But you know how how she goes.... got to have a better mouse trap and I like the idea of less lead fragments in my meat (arguments over the trustworthiness of lead dispersion studies in meat not withstanding). If you do any work with the TTSX I would love to hear your results, I am happy to share my data!

They are very accurate in both of my 9.3X62 rifles, and work just fine. :)

A single 270 gr Matrix was all it took to put this guy down for keeps at 60 yd.

Broke the near shoulder, two vertebrae, and ended up in the far shoulder.

You won't be disappointed with Matrix bullets. They are very accurate, even the hunting bullets shoot like match bullets, and as Cory says, Marshall is a great guy to deal with.

I used that very same bullet hunting last year and I was happy with the performance. I hit a buck inside 100 yards (probably closer to 50 yards). I did not recover the bullet (as expected). From looking at the body cavity the expansion seemed more than adequate. The MV was about 3050 fps (6.5-06).

I would use them in any hunting gun...I have some for my 25-06 AI but didnt' have time to work up a load for them in time for hunting season.

Thanks for the info,

I emailed with Marshal and he was helpful for sure. He says his bond is certainly very tenacious but overall the bullet is not quite as tough as an Accubond, but obviously a lot tougher than any cup and core jacketed softs. They sound ideal for what I want and I will definately be ordering!

I found some reviews of accuracy and all were very complimentary too.

RE19 and N560 will be tested!

Haven't shot anything but paper with them yet, but they have been incredibly accurate in every rifle I've loaded them in so far. 6.5x55, 6.5-06, 25-06, 270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag.

Marshall has a few VLD's that are not listed on his site yet, might want to call/email him and see if he has what you're looking for.
Tried some 142 gr VLD's in my 6.5-06, first load put 3 rounds under 1/2". After a little more tweaking, I have them running at 2960fps, and still around 1/2" if I do my part.

Currently trying out some 168, 185 and 210gr VLD's in my 300 Win Mag. The 185's are looking pretty good so far, haven't done much with the others yet, but am sure I'll be able to find a good load for them too. The best part is that they don't seem to be too picky on seating depth, I can load all 3 to mag length without having to change my die at all.
PS, he doesn't recommend the 210's for hunting
