I know Why Not? had good success with these bullets out of his 9.3x62, but has anyone else used them? I was looking at the 168 and 178gr .308" RBT and the 175gr. RBT .284" Hunting bullets. What kind of velocity is required for proper expansion? Any other points/experiences to share, good or bad?

Give Marshall a call; he is good to deal with and can answer a lot I questions.
I also have it on good account that the 168's I loaded over 58gr of H4350 for a friends '06 hit a 350lb Blackie like a freight train and passed through at 80yds. Impact should have been roughly 2800fps and the internal damage was extensive. Held together, penetrated, and very accurate.
I intend to try the 168 7mm variety some time in the AI.

I am interested in the hunting version although if I were strictly into target shooting I'd look at their bullets too. It would be nice to support a Canadian company. Their prices are good (~$60/100) for a premium bullet.

I used the 270 gr. in my 9.3x57 last year and shot a bull moose at about 100 yards. The performance was excellent!

Where I recovered the bullet

The best I can tell is I shot the bull in the neck on the left side and it traveled through the neck and came to rest just under the antler on the right side.

Here's how it looks now

I found other fragments as well (no pictures)

Stats
Bullet Weight - Matrix 270 gr. .366"
Retained Weight - 133.5 gr.
1987 FPS from 6 feet past the muzzle (50 gr. of BLC-2 out of a 24" barrel)
Approximately 98 yards

Obviously, the bullet did its job...the moose is dead and that's all I cared about. I was slightly leery about the "low" velocity with a bonded bullet, but I guess it worked alright.

I think for the price, you're getting a bonded bullet, supporting a Canadian company that's accurate with great performance.

Marshal is a great guy to talk to and fully expect to shoot them in my 7x57 this fall.
