Matte finish on marlin

Why is the finish on some marlin SBL different. most of the ones i see online are bright stainless but the one I own is matte stainless. Anybody know what the difference is?

It's just the cheapening of the rifle by Remington. Costs less to do a matte blued bead blasted finish than a deep, high lustre bluing as Marlin did before.

its not blued its a stainless steel gun

Yes but the concept is the same. Less money and labour involved with a bead blast finish than there is to polish it nicely.
