Looking to buy one and would like to know who sells them and what I should be looking for. Pointing me to the right forums on here would be a big help. Thanks.
Depends if you want an all original NAZI issue, or a russian refurb, there is about a $1000 difference between the two.
Not to slight this forum, but www.gk43forum.com is probably a better place for K98k specific information, the real experts hang out there.
Although this forum's EE is probably your best bet for finding an all original and correct K98k for sale...
Otherwise P&S militaria has a bunch of russian refurb K98k's for sale, as I dont see any listed on tradeex anymore.
they have some Norwegian Mauser 98k's 30-06 in stock. I am interested in them, but would like to know if the store has a good reputation, and if the price is about right.

You are talking about P&S Militaria? They have a very good name on this forum, lots of satisfied customers. I guess the price is up to you, P&S do not seem to gouge like some dealers. They are priced a bit higher than a private sale, but they also have to make a living off what they sell... I thought the price was too high for the Norwegian 98's compared to the RC 98's in 8x57. I ended up buying an un-issued Yugo M-48 (in 8x57) for substantially less than the 30-06 ones on P&S. Since I reload, 8x57 is a good cartridge with very similar performance to 30-06 and I am very happy with my choice. If you have to have a 98 in 30-06 with some history, this is pretty much the best choice (only choice?) available.
