I disremember where I saw the article, but a fellow had re-bbl'd a 91 ( with a sewer pipe bore ) to 45 ACP.
Inserted a wooden block with a concave surface ( for the loaded rd to sit prior to being put in battery) in the magazine well and Bob's your uncle. The push feed and size of the bolt face were perfectly suited to a '91 converted to 45 ACP.
If anyone has any thoughts or experience; please, sound off.
I already have a strong collector value Peruvian 1891 ( so nice to have a pristine example to refer to ), and the opportunity has come up to purchase a Argentine 1891 with a rough bore (sans magazine as well).
Seems like a perfect candidate. A custom made shorter bbl can be legally installed on this piece as well, no? Say 14"?
