I have a line on a mint Mauser model 77 in 270 Win and I want to know about any known issues. It appears extremely well made, very nice wood, with excellent wood and metal fitment. It is a bit weighty.
Mauser 77... What is your opinion?

Push feed, rear locking lugs, quite odd but it appears to work well, as the throw is smooth and locks up tight.
I have a full-stock 30-06. Great handling. Nice iron sites. It shot very well to 100 yards with irons. It has a very slick action and single stack mag.
I made the mistake of adding a scope. The scope ruined the feel of the gun. The balance changed and it was not nearly as handy. If I could, I would shoot it with irons. But old eyes makes it hard to see a target even at 100 yards. That is a shames because with iron sites it is a fanatic gun.
