Just wondering if anyone knows of a dealer or supplier that actually has a sporter bolt shroud in stock for a swede. I've been patiently waiting for Brownells to list theirs as " in stock" for nearly a year now and no luck.

I've installed a bold trigger with safety on my rifle and want to streamline the bolt shroud.

Thanks

Sadly, Brownells is more interested in stocking the stuff that sells...AR bits and pieces.
You can streamline your existing shroud by taking metal off and polishing.

Trade Ex have modified 96 bolts, with streamlined handle and shroud, no safety (needs side safety with aftermarket trigger) and faster lock time.
They also have a notch to avoid the shroud from turning when on safe (middle position of the M/94/96/38 safety flag lever allows the bolt shroud to turn when the bolt is open). You may well be able to get the whole bolt for the price of a single "modified shroud"... but you will need to have the headspace checked to replace the whole bolt...

I already modified my bolt handle so would prefer to keep it but that's I'll check them out.

Now that changes everything. This looks great and just might be what I need. I had planned to install the streamlined shroud and install a bold trigger with safety but I like this option much better. Kills two birds with one stone as well with the #### on open kit.

I hope he ships to Canada.

just a dumb question,
if you replace the shroud to remove the safety lever on the bolt, how do you take the bolt appart for cleaning?

Remove the bolt from the rifle. Hook the front edge of the cocking piece on the edge of a word bench. Pull down on to the bolt body until there is a gap between the cocking piece and the shroud. Insert a coin in the gap then gently relax the grip on the bolt body until the coin is tight. Unscrew the firig pin assembly from the bolt body.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing

I contacted Trade Ex and unfortunately they said all they have are standard military issue model 96 bolts, nothing modified?
