Mauser 98 action

I have an FN mauser 98 action that has had the crest machined off. Any idea on how safe it would be to use for a non magnum sporter?

Any idea on Make? Any other marking's? Picture say's 1000 word's

I believe FN is Belguin. I am not sure but I think late 40's as it has the stripper clip cut out and front notched for 06. Do not have the tools or know how to post a picture.
