MAUSER 98 BARREL fit to MOSSBERG PATRIOT

I have a zastava Mauser barrel in 9.3x62 and want to rebarrel/rechamber my mossberg patriot 30-06 with it. A gunsmith told me over email this is possible as long as there is enough material to cut off the threads and then cut new ones. My question is does anyone with knowledge of rebarrelling think this is gonna work out ? anyone think this is a good/bad idea ?

did a quick search , only thing i can find related to the threads are barrel tendon is 7/8 or .875 x 28 some one posted that about their mossberg 223 . dunno if that helps
 
You are also going to require a finish reamer and a go gauge. Your present barrel needs to be measured and compared to the Mossberg requirements. Hard to do on a forum.
