Might be a long shot but does anyone have a Swedish M96/38 AND a German Mauser 98 on hand? I'm looking to see if the Swedish Mausers will take any other Mauser Mag springs. Call me cheap but I can't justify buying a more readily available German spring (and waiting for postage etc) to try in my 1899 Swedish M98. If anyone has both around and could check the fitment I would be so pleased!

Thanks in advance.

Update: I've made a cheap Enfield Mag spring fit for the time being. The spring doesn't sit as nicely in the floor plate or have as tight, small bends as the original. Thus the 5th round won't seat into the magazine. 4 round magazine for the time being ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ At least I'm not sitting here without a useable firearm during this whole deal.

Pretty strapped with time right now but we own and use M96 and also K98 Rifles.
If you have not got an Answer by Weekend, PM me directly and I will check.

Cheers

If you're handy, the 98 spring can be modified to fit with very little effort on your part, as long as you have a grinder

The modifying is no problem. I actually scabbed a spring from a broken knockoff Lee Enfield magazine for the time being. But that spring is only a stand in until a better either original or modified 98 spring can be fit. Thanks!

The only difference should be the width which can be adjusted with a grinder as mentioned above.
