I've got a rifle with a commercial FN Mauser action that I'd like some advice about. Clearly it is well made and quite accurate (3/4" groups are a regular thing) but the bolt is wobbly enough to cause occasional binding. I realize that to some extent that it is simply a Mauser characteristic. However I've also owned another FN Mauser that was beautifully smooth and handled others that were similar. Can this be corrected in my rifle and if so, at what sort of cost?

The binding may be accentuated by the way you operate the bolt... don't hold the bolt knob... just palm the bolt knob where you want it to go... palm it up and hook it with your fingers on the way back... palm it ahead and palm it down.

Binding in a 98 is usually the extractor collar, especially if it has been removed and re-installed.
