I was trying to remember how to disassemble my vz 24's bolt and I somehow messed it up the bolt isn't cocked and you need it to be cocked to disassemble it. The part with the safety on it slide forward and won't the bolt wont go back in the gun :( if you know what your doing I can email u pics because I don't know how to upload them on my IPad. You must help me I just got it yesterday and I want to shoot it so badly this weekend!

Grap the cocking piece in a vise, pull it back to cocked position, push in the detent and rotate the back end to cocked position, apply the safety.

Whenever you remove or replace the bolt assembly from a Mauser, always have the safety in the up or 12 o'clock position.

Glad you were able to fix it.

I find a "field" fix if this happens away from your vice is to grab a screw driver, put it perpendicular to the cocking piece and pull back while also rotating the bolt shroud so the bolt is able to re-####. You will hear a "click" and the bolt shroud will be 90 degrees to the position it was previously. You will notice the cocking piece is out and the bolt is cocked. You can now insert the bolt back in the rifle.

Recocking the bolt this way can be a pain if the firing pin spring is stiff so make sure you watch your fingers and your skin ;).
