I have now run around 50 rounds through my unissued M-48 Yugo Mauser. It is having issues feeding 170gr soft point ammo if I load a full 5 rounds into the mag. The first one is very hard to close the bolt with, then it gets progressively easier as the rounds come out of the mag. The last two or three feed no problem. The feed ramp is a bit rough and has not seen enough use to smooth out much yet.
Any ideas on improving the feeding? Should I take a dremel and gently polish the ramp? Emery cloth? Find a bunch of surplus FMJ ammo and wear it smooth or what?
If anybody has any leads on some FMJ surplus ammo, I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Mark
