Hey guys,

cleaning a new toy- a sportered Turk Mauser its actually pretty cool and features a CIL made in Canada barrel. Anyway, I noticed the tip of the firing Pin is cracked, still functioning, but cracked none the less.

are the 98 firing pins interchangeable from 98 to 98?? I somewhat assumed it was a generic blueprint.

Now, the Turk Mauser was german contracted and is a large ring 98 from what I understand, however, the action is slightly shorter, I ordered a K98 mauser firing pin from tradeex and a new spring so I will find out regardless,

Do any of you Guru's know the answer to this? this is my first mauser action and I kindof want to spruce the old battle axe up a bit as I am quickly growing quite attached to it!

Mike.

If you have a 1903 action then a normal 98 pin will not work. The 1903 is an intermediate length action where as the 98 is a standard length.

If you're not sure what action you have, post some pics and I'll tell you.
