Mauser Gewehrfabrik Danzig Rifle ! Question/Value

Hi Guy ! Could anybody give me some informations on a Gewehrfabrik Danzig Rifle that I have the opportunity to buy. It's exactly the same as this picture. The guy is asking 400$ and the rifle seem in great condition considering its age. I don't know anything about it's value..

more seriously it s really depending ho much you are willing to spend on this rifle. the value is very often in the eye of the beholder.

they are extremely well made rifles, and a classic. Be prepared to shoot it with open sights only, it would be a shame to modify an old classic for scope use. If its in a cartridge you are interested in, and the bore is OK, $400 is a very good price.

$400 is a good deal for that rifle if the bore is good. Check that it has a S bore diameter(.323) not the older J bore(.318) which would lower the value in my opinion.

If it is in great condition I'd pay $400. These were only made for a short time circa 1919. My understanding is that these came out of the former Imperial arsenal in Danzig in the the aftermath of WWI (keep the doors open kind of project), prior to the equipment being transferred to the newly formed Poland.
