Guys, I came across this bayo on an auction site, and noticed an odd hole drilled through the handle near the cross guard. Why would anyone intentionally do this to a hapless bayonet?
Edit: nvr mind...I see most K98n bayonets have this feature. Not all, but most. So, does anyone know why it's there? When mounted, it doesn't appear to interact with the rifle at all, nor does it appear to have a function with the frog or scabbard.
